RAPID TRANSIT IN THE CAPITAL REGION COULD INCORPORATE A VARIETY OF TECHNOLOGY, THIS ACCORDING TO A BC TRANSIT PRESENTATION TO SAANICH COUNCIL MONDAY NIGHT
SAANICH COUNCILLOR DEAN MURDOCK SAYS BC TRANSIT WANTED TO BRING THE DISTRICT UP TO DATE ON THEIR PLANS, AND MAKE IT CLEAR THAT ONE SINGLE TRANSIT OPTION HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED ON YET
“that they split the cooridor into three sections, and that each of those sections, a technology will be selected for each of those sections, independently, that they will work obviously in conjunction”
MURDOCK SAYS A NUMBER OF PUBLIC FILLED THE ROOM AND WERE OVERWHELMINGLY SUPPORTIVE OF THE RAIL OPTION IN PARTICULAR
MURDOCK SAYS HE FOUND THE PUBLIC ATTENDANCE VERY ENCOURAGING
“residents have a great deal of concern about the decision making process and I think that it’s a tremendous statement by residents that democracy is alive and well”
MURDOCK SAYS WHILE THE ENTIRE CORRIDOR WAS DISCUSSED THEY FOCUSED PRIMARILY ON THE SECTION FROM HILLSIDE NORTH PAST UPTOWN TO 6 MILE.
